The PreSonus AudioBox USB 2x2 USB recording system is an excellent solution for achieving high-quality, professional-sounding recordings no matter where you are. The AudioBox USB is a USB bus-powered audio recording interface loaded with 2 microphone/instrument inputs with 48V phantom power, 2 balanced TRS outputs, and MIDI I/O so you can stay portable without sacrificing your sound. The AudioBox USB also comes with Studio One Artist music creation and production software which has the same platform and intuitive interface as Studio One Pro but with an unlimited track count so you can start recording right out of the box.
PreSonus Audio has won numerous awards for designing quality microphone preamplifiers for all price levels. The AudioBox USB is loaded with preamps that deliver high headroom, low noise, and high gain to give you pure, full, and rich sound. Most USB recording devices operate at a 16-bit sample rate and use converters with dynamic ranges of less than 90dB which gives you a pinched and relatively small sound. The AudioBox USB, however, uses professional-grade analog to digital converters with a dynamic range of 102dB and 24-bit sample rate so that the digital conversion is big, quiet, and musical, making it one of the best sounding USB bus-powered interface on the market.
The AudioBox USB is bus-powered giving you the flexibility you need with no wall warts, line lumps, or power cables. Just plug in to a powered USB port and you are ready to record. The AudioBox USB is housed in an all-metal chassis with metal knobs able to withstand the rigors of travel and your touring adventures. Just toss the AudioBox USB in your laptop bag and mobilize your music creation and production. Whether you're recording your shows, creating a mix on the plane, or writing songs in your hotel room, the AudioBox is ready to go.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Red:
This is really a fantastic product. Presonus makes great gear. I own three of these and have them at different locations ready to use at a moments notice. I write songs and create melodies at random times. Excellent quality and construction. Studio One is also fantastic. Purchased this one for a friend. He digs it too.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Red:
I am new to mixing and recording. I have been studying videos, articles, and books to get up to speed. But when it comes to questions particular to PreSonus software it is darn near impossible to get answers it a timely manor. PreSonus has decided that questions pertaining to Studio One will only be handled by email. Solving a simple problem is like trying to tie your shoes while wearing mittens. To their credit, they have an extensive "knowledge base", help videos, and such but it just doesn't work with simple, basic problems that turn into multiple days of exchanging emails. I know I shouldn't expect PreSonus to provide me a compete, free education so I can become a recording engineer, but this is the other extreme and it makes me feel not only unfamiliar, but plain stupid. On the plus side, learning to play an instrument seems like a cake walk now.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Red:
Difficult to sync-up with my cakewalk studio professional program, very poor audio response while recording. Very limited in nearly every way imaginable. i was looking for an inexpensive option to record singers and acoustic piano in live settings and this doesn't do it. Because of the low price point and it's portability, I will keep the unit and try to find some use for it somewhere down the road. I would not recommend it to anyone looking to even make a decent demo.

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Red:
Sound quality is good with low/no latency. Haven't driven two inputs simultaneously yet, so I can't report on that. Very sturdy. A bargain!

Comments about PreSonus AudioBox USB - Red:
Only one problem so far. My Taylor nylon string guitar distorted when plugged in with a guitar cord. Of course that could have been a weak battery.
